  • How long has this course been around?
    The First Mandala Vaatika course happened in July 2020.
  • Are there any prerequisites to do the course?
    No prerequisite. The course is open to all above 18 years of age..
  • Is it an Art of Living course blessed by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar?
    Pujya Gurudev has blessed Dr Prabhakar Rao to teach the Mandala Vaatika course and it is an Art of Living Course taught under the Sri Sri Institute of Agricultural Sciences & Technology Trust (SSIAST).
  • Will Gurudev be there on any of the sessions?
    Gurudev’s videos will be shared. There will also be a guided meditation by Gurudev (pre-recorded).
  • What is the course about?

  • What do I gain from it?
    • You will be contributing to the revival of the ancient science of Mandala Vaatika, which is being explored now after 2000 years by Art of Living and SSIAST.
    • You will create a table top version of Mandala Vaatika, which is basically a miniature version of a garden that existed in physical space in Vedic times. You will be combining the concepts of Sacred Geometry, Plant Frequencies and Vedic Chants to invoke the respective Tattvas/Positive Energies.
    • Experience what ancient seekers during the Vedic times experienced when they meditated in these gardens.
    • You will be provided a Home-Going kit to refer for drawing the Mandala in the future and performing Puja on your own at any point in time when you feel like invoking these Tattvas in your life.
    • Since the course is online, you have the flexibility of doing at your preferred time of the day, during the time when the course is active.
  • Does it work for someone who is unwell, physically or mentally?
    The mandala course can be done by anyone above 18 years of age, who can sit through the sessions and follow the instructions. The experience is different for different people.
  • Will I be able to grasp the scientific knowledge if I am not from the Science background?
    The scientific knowledge is explained in very simple terms by Dr. Prabhakar Rao. Even if you are unable to grasp it completely, it does not take away from your experience of the Tattva.
    Additionally, the course is designed in such a way that it caters to people who are inclined to Vedic Knowledge equally, as to those who are more Scientifically inclined, and also to those who are just here for the experience without any specific inclination as such.
  • Once registered what information will be available for me to view?
    • There will be a series of videos for you to watch. You can pause, rewind and replay them as needed. You can adjust the viewing speed also on the videos.
    • This would also include a Step-by-Step video to draw the Mandala Vaatika.
    • You will also have access to all the course-related documents there.
    • Home Going Kit for future use.
  • How long will I have access to the material?
    • The content where Dr. Rao talks about the science, wisdom and importance of each Mandala Vaatika is available only during the course duration
    • You will have Lifetime access to the following content on the Portal:
      • Everything you need to perform the Mandala Vaatika Puja independently at a later point:
        • The Process to draw the Mandala
        • Chants needed for the Puja

  • How do I make the payment?
  • How do I know I am making the payment to AOL?
    You make the payment to SSIAST (Sri Sri Institute of Agriculture Sciences and Technology Trust). SSIAST is a sister organization of the Art of Living foundation.
  • What are the course timings?
    • Bundled Courses -
      You can watch all the sessions at your convenient time, during this time-frame.
      We have Live Sessions with Dr. Prabhakar Rao, scheduled on the last Sunday of each month
      More details will be provided during the course.
    • Regular Courses -
      The regular courses are of 4 days duration – 2 hrs per day. The sessions are pre-recorded, so you can watch them at your convenient time during the course duration.
       
  • What is required to access the course?
    • Detailed instructions will be sent to you on your registered email ID, along-with the course link, post registration.
    • Helpline numbers and WhatsApp Group link will also be provided to you on the email to help with any queries you may have.
    • All you need is a device, preferably a PC/laptop, and a stable internet connection.
  • What are the basic materials needed for the course?
    • Compass
    • Set Squares (preferably bigger size, as it makes drawing easy)
    • Ruler (preferably bigger size, as it makes drawing easy)
    • Protractor
    • Pencil
    • Eraser
    • Pencil Sharpener
    • Paper Size:
      • A3 size paper (11.7 × 16.5 inches is A3) (296mm * 420mm)
      • If you have A4 size paper – you may need to connect 2 sheets lengthwise as the sketch may spill out. A3 is precisely twice the size of A4 paper
      • You can also use a chart paper
    • Colours:
      • Colour pens or pencils or crayons, water colour, sketch pens – any according to your choice
    • Plant parts specified for each Mandala Vaatika - More information will be given during the course.

    • There is a teachers’ training for Mandala Vaatika in plan, for those interested in spreading this wisdom. The pre-requisite for the teacher’s training would be to complete all the 4 Mandala Vaatika Courses.

    Yes, we will have one ore more Live Sessions with Dr. Prabhakar Rao and more details on that will be provided during the course.
